The compact model with hygienic design is the perfect all-rounder for vertical packaging of large products such as ham, meat pieces or other large, loose containers. Many powerful performance features not only provide added value for food processing companies, but also make VSM Bulky a flexible and simultaneously efficient component in the production process.

The new packaging machine with manual bagging function can perform vacuuming, gas flushing and vertical sealing in a very limited space. It is particularly suitable for production where product batches change frequently or applications that require a high degree of flexibility. Vertical packaging can be vacuumed and gas flushed from above directly in a bag in a shipping box or E2 crates, cartons or barrels, which means that even large packages can be easily and reliably packed. 

High packaging quality and efficiency

The ultra-wide vacuum station with double-sided impulse sealing ensures reliable wrinkle-free sealing, even for large-sized and wet bags. "In addition to a reliable vacuum, wrinkle-free sealing seams and double-sided pulse sealing are decisive factors for packaging quality, product protection and shelf life," MBM product engineer Julia Mayer affirmed. 

Other advantages especially appreciated by first-time users include the fast vacuum time and the fact that the VSM® Bulky can be activated immediately at the push of a button. “Since we do not use permanently heated sealing strips, there is no need for a separate preheating time. This means that the packaging machine has significantly increased productivity. This is especially noticeable when changing batches frequently,” Julia Mayer added.

Thanks to the proven VSM® technology, the entire vacuuming process is performed under normal atmospheric pressure-no vacuum chamber is required. This guarantees a high-quality vacuum that is gentle to the product, which is particularly advantageous for sensitive product structures.

The space-saving slim design makes the multifunctional VSM Bulky can be used in almost any work environment. Innovative models are also installed on casters, which can be simply pushed to wherever needed. However, if modifications are required due to specific requirements, MBM offers the possibility of individual adjustments to standard machines, thanks to its high vertical manufacturing range and comprehensive expertise in special machine manufacturing.

Another advantage: VSM Bulky has two gas connections, so two different types of gas can be connected for the modified atmosphere package (MAP package). For this purpose, separate programs with different gas types and vacuum times can be stored in the system.

Finally, in terms of the range of products that can be processed, there is almost no limit to flexibility and versatility. The extra-long sealing strip (maximum sealing length of 1,100 mm) is even suitable for oversized products and bulk packaging. Ham, grilled meat and various pieces of meat, sausages, fish and cheese can be packaged safely without any problems. There are also many possible applications in the pharmaceutical and non-food fields. 

Easy to operate, clean and maintain

When developing its new all-rounder, MBM not only attaches great importance to optimal performance and machine quality, but also to hygiene, ergonomics and safety of machine operation.

For example, VSM® Bulky has a hygienic design based on EHEDG [European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group] guidelines, so it can be used in sensitive applications such as the food industry. The integrated cleaning program for flushing nozzles and hoses also ensures ideal and effective cleaning of the machine.

The machine is safely and intuitively controlled via the KTP 700 touch panel, with a total of ten program positions. With its two-handed operation and protective cover, MBM naturally meets the highest safety standards.

In addition, like all VSM systems, MBM customers benefit from a high degree of ease of maintenance. Common wearing parts can be easily replaced without maintenance technicians, and spare parts can be obtained quickly. This also has a positive impact on machine availability and final productivity. "For more complex tasks, our experienced service technicians can also provide services quickly," Julia Mayer added. 

Optionally, the VSM Bulky can be equipped with a roller conveyor and a bag insertion aid for quick insertion of the bag into a carton or box.
